Dallas - Hunting Dog TrainingHunting Dog Training in Connecticut

At Woodland Kennel (located in Connecticut / CT), we believe the success of any hunting dog training program begins with proper breeding and continues throughout the dog’s life. We work closely with our clients at every stage to ensure setting the proper environment for their new family member and life long gun dog companion.

We recognize that many clients are interested in taking an active role in hunting dog training but do not have the facilities and/or time to produce the level of performance desired. To accommodate all of our clients, we offer two proven professional gun dog training programs:

Hunting Dog Training Program

Clients may choose to have their hunting dogs professionally trained by our staff. In order to ensure that every dog receives individual attention and sufficient training to reach the clients’ desired level of performance, we limit the number of dog we train at one time.

We focus on the following area:

Yard Work / Obedience
Proper Introduction to Birds
Gun Breaking
Marking and Retrieving *
Steady to Wing and Shot
Track and Trail
Handling on water and land for blind retrieves

*All dogs technical water concepts include working through decoys and from a blind or a boat to simulate hunting conditions come opening day.

Additionally, our training program is designed to promote proper transition back to the client. This involves scheduled visits to our facility during the final stages of the program for one-on-one instruction. During this time we teach each client how to properly maintain the canine’s level of training before going home.

One on One Instruction

Often, clients come into our facility and attend one-on-one gun dog training classes. We will become your coach, critic, guide and teacher. This program is designed to teach the owner how to train and handle your gun dog in and out of the field.

Cost: $75 / session plus the cost of birds.
